Character Of God

I think everyone harbors a belief in the existence of God. Or at least a faint hope that God exists and cares about them. I think reason necessitates that we accept the possibility that God exists. Evidence for the existence of God can’t be tangibly produced, but we can see the evidence in our soul.

Belief in the existence of God is an anchor that some people can’t live without. And it’s a safe and beneficial belief to have as long as it’s not causing you to persecute or kill “infidels”, “gentiles”, “heathens”, etc.

It’s perfectly sensible to believe in the existence of God even if we’re not sure who God is. We shouldn’t get too specific about what we believe God will or won’t do anyway, because some of the traits we assign to God might merely be our own flaws.
