Resist the urge to trade up when it comes to intimate partners. You’ll never find the perfect one. Even the ones you think are better, might not be. If you luck out and find a better one, they might eventually trade you in.
When selecting an ideal mate, we compare people to an ideal we’ve created in our imagination. That ideal isn’t based on a real person. It’s parts of different people we’ve put together. Such a person almost certainly doesn’t exist. If they do exist, you’ll likely never find them. Even if you could find them, you probably don’t match what they’re looking for.
Look for net positives, instead of absolute positives. There are no perfect people, only the perception of perfect.
