Real Confidence

When we think of confidence, we tend to imagine ourselves having no insecurities. But the reality is we will always feel insecure in certain situations. Real confidence isn’t about pretending that insecurities don’t exist. In fact, acknowledging the existence of insecurities can help defuse them.

The development of skill is also part of the process of building confidence. When we know how to perform a task very well, we become more confident in our abilities. But we must be careful to not let being skilled in one area lead to false confidence in other areas. Experience breeds confidence, but understanding how to navigate one set of circumstances doesn’t necessarily apply to all others.
