“We’re not even on our journey to save the world but to save ourselves. But in doing that you save the world. The influence of a vital person vitalizes.” ~ Joseph Campbell
Think less about how you can change the world and more about how you can change yourself. As Gandhi said, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.”
It’s not your responsibility to fix everyone’s problems, but it is your responsibility to know yourself. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t help others, but you also shouldn’t put the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Changing the world isn’t just about coming up with big ideas. Some people will come up with big ideas and be very successful. Maybe you’ll be one of them. But if not, there are plenty of “ordinary” things you can do to make a difference.
The things we do have a ripple effect. Change the world by working on your little corner of it.
