The Facts Matter More Than the Speaker

Did he have all the information?

Did she think it through?

Expertise matters, but only within its proper scope.

Sometimes experts comment on subjects outside their field. They may not be well informed about those subjects, yet they can sound just as articulate, persuasive, and confident as they do when speaking about their own area of expertise.

What matters is whether their claims are supported by accurate facts, sound reasoning, and a proper understanding of the issue.
