What do you expect it to buy?

Can it buy what you expect it to buy?

If it can, do you actually need it?

We get ourselves into trouble when we’re not able to answer those questions honestly or accurately. We need to examine our motives thoroughly, because we’re really good at lying to ourselves. We’ve had plenty of practice. We’ve been doing it our entire life.

“Everyone is doing it” and “everyone has one” aren’t good enough reasons for acquiring more money or for spending it.
