The story of the woman caught in adultery didn’t appear in biblical manuscripts until several centuries after the death of Jesus. Someone created the story and put it into the bible.
It’s a great story. It conveys an important message. A message consistent with what we know about Jesus. But it didn’t happen.
This demonstrates the power of a good story. This demonstrates the usefulness of the bible. Even if some of it is fiction. The story isn’t true, but the lesson is.
Even Jesus told fictional stories. He used allegorical stories to illustrate important truths. The bible is still relevant.
