We’re not always interested in hearing the truth as it is. We’re interested in hearing it as we believe it to be. Confirmation bias is one of the most dangerous flaws in human thinking.
We need to learn to shift our focus away from looking for evidence that we’re right, and toward looking for evidence that we might be wrong.
We can’t separate ourselves entirely from our biases. But we can make some adjustments if we’re willing to keep our eyes open.
