Opinions expressed in a heated way are often extreme and ill-informed. And it’s usually a sign that the person feels like they’re not being heard or understood. This is especially true in discussions about politics and religion.
It’s best to treat all religions, political parties, and ideologies as though they have a point. Because most do. They’re not wrong about everything. Figure out what their point is. Figure out which parts are true and what needs the adherents are trying to satisfy.
