You’re not as smart or as dumb as you think you are. But err on the side of thinking you’re slightly dumber than you actually are. You’ll make fewer mistakes and people will respect your humility.
It’s good to try to be less wrong, instead of trying to be more right. Because by trying to be more right we’re usually trying to confirm what we already believe.
Don’t assume that you’re right, assume you’re wrong. Then check the facts. Because even humility can be used as a smoke screen for hubris—believing that you’re more humble than most people.
