Every day is another opportunity to be the better person you want to be. Being a better person is about becoming a wiser person. It’s about making adjustments—an on going calibration of your perspective.
But experience is not only a good teacher. It can also be a calcifier. New learning occurs, but old beliefs can sometimes get locked in. Calcification is difficult to avoid, but making the conscious decision to dedicate yourself to continuous learning will help.
If what you believe today about a particular subject contradicts what you believed in the past, that’s usually a good sign of growth. Either you didn’t think it through before or you’re not thinking it through now. Figure out which it is.
