Staying Grounded

It’s important to not “sweat the small stuff,” but it’s also important to not sweat most of the big stuff. Because you’re not in control of most of the big stuff. Especially the really big stuff. You can’t prevent economic recessions, you can’t prevent wars, you can’t prevent pandemics, etc.

Worrying about problems you can’t control is itself a problem—one that you can control.

Extreme situations, whether extremely good or extremely bad, can cause us to become unhinged from reality. Nothing is as good or as bad as it seems—make every effort to stay grounded, no matter what happens.
