Survival Of The Fittest

An obsession with being number one is a selfish goal. After-all, it has nothing to do with the well-being of others or helping others get better along with you. It’s the opposite—it’s about putting ourselves at the top of the food chain.

We all have savage instincts. We usually choose to be civil, but there’s part of us that doesn’t want to be civil. Despite our civilization, we’re still animals in the wilderness. We’re still trying to survive in a harsh environment. And at the same time, we’re trying to understand what it’s all about.

Putting ourselves first is an automatic response—it’s our default setting, but it can be overridden. Don’t treat life like it’s one big competition. What are you going to win in the end? In the end you’re dead.
