It’s not virtuous, nor smart, to always be against the status quo. Nobody is smart enough to have revolutionary ideas about everything. Only occasionally will any of us have a great idea. We’ll have lots of ideas, but many of them will be wrong or incomplete. The probability of any grand theory you might have of being right is extremely low.
Changes have consequences and it’s not clear what all those consequences will be before the changes occur. You might think you’re making something better, and in the short run it might be better. But without realizing it, you might be making things far worse for the long run.
