We have difficulty seeing a future without ourselves in it. Death seems too distant and unreal—something so far in the future that it doesn’t feel as though it will actually happen.
Not only will it happen, but it may not be as far in the future as we think. At any moment, our next breath could be our last, yet we often waste it worrying about trivial matters.
Don’t get worked up over minor inconveniences and injustices. They will always be part of life. They’re part of the cost of doing business in an imperfect world.
It’s also important not to stress too much over some of the big things. You have no control over the really big ones. You can’t prevent recessions, wars, pandemics, or natural disasters.
Save your energy.
