There’s a lot of wasted talent. It gets wasted because of the usual suspects: poverty, war, prejudices, bad messaging, etc.

But it also gets wasted because of the pursuit of wealth and fame.

Make your goals about what good you can do, instead of how many fancy things you can buy or how much attention you can get. Making a difference matters, making a name for yourself doesn’t.
